The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its April Regular Membership meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Truluck's in Rosemont, IL. The luncheon program featured industry updates and a guest presentation by Matt Blair, CEO & Co-Founder of the Well Resource Center, NFP. 

Industry Update Highlights:
Powering Chicago requests topic suggestions for upcoming “Power of Better” videos.  We hope that you will share your insight with the industry.  You can send you topic ideas to Elbert Walters, III, Powering Chicago Director at:  ewalters@poweringchicago.com.

Registration is open for the 2025 NECA Safety Professionals Conference being held on May 19 – 21, 2025 in Des Moines, IA.  Click here for Registration.

Registration closes on April 25, 2025 for the ECA Spring Conference, which is to be held on June 4 – 5, 2025 at the Grand Geneva Resort.  The golf outing is on June 4, 2025 on the Highlands Course.  The Conference closing presenter is Brandon Schroeder, Believe in Safety.  Mr. Schroder will offer a raw, emotional, and transformative safety presentation.  His powerful story has changed the way thousands of professionals think about workplace safety.  Click here for Registration.

Presentation Highlights:
Matt Blair, CEO & Co-Founder of Well Resource Center, presented “Supporting the Team Through Mental Health Struggles & Concerns.”  

Presentation included the following:
--Mental and behavioral health concerns in the workplace and out in the field.

--Knowing how to step-in to offer support and referrals to fellow co-workers in need. 

The Well began as a Non-for profit in 2016. Matt Blair, CEO’s personal connection to this community is his brother Scott, who is a Chicago police officer. The Well’s vision is to build a trusted safe space for First Responders and their families and to provide appreciation, respect and support for first responders and for the work they do to keep our city safe. Their programs are designed to create trusted and engaging environments that improve mental, physical, relational and spiritual health for the entire first responder family unit.
