ECA Student Committee Update - ECA Member Special Presentation (ECIC) (3/27/25)

NECA-IIT Student Chapter is participating with the 2025 Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge (ECIC).

Matt Andersen, Maron Electric Company.  - Special Presentation

The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) / the Chicago & Cook County Chapter, NECA wishes to thank Matt Andersen, Senior Estimator Project Manager, Maron Electric Company for his special presentation concerning electrical estimating that he gave to the NECA-IIT Student Chapter on Thursday, March 27, 2025.  

Mr. Andersen discussed estimating best practices applied to the review of the overall competition narrative, which included the following areas: 

• General Requirements review
• Site Construction
• General Conditions
• Separate Specifications
• Bid Forms
• Labeling of all drawings
• Electrical System Description
• Be aware of commodity pricing
• Utilize a Bid Review Process

As you’re aware, the NECA - IIT Student Chapter is participating in the 2025 Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge (ECIC) sponsored by NECA and ELECTRI International.  Teams are advised to emphasize detailed technical solutions for the proposed systems.
