The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its November Membership meeting as a Breakfast session.  The program was held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Maggiano’s Banquets in Oak Brook, IL.  Over 50 attendees were on hand for the Committee reports, Industry updates, and a special presentation by Nic Bittle, Work Force Pro called, “The Power of Empathy.”   We thank Nic for his thoughtful presentation.

Reports were given regarding the following Trusts / Committees:  EJAB, EJATT, LMCC, Legislative, Safety, Research and Education, DEI (Culture of Collaboration), Young Professionals and the Student Committee. 

Congratulations to the current Executive Committee members who are returning next year to serve the Association:  Scott Block, Block Electric Company, Inc., David Chorley, Continental Electrical Construction Company, Bill Cullen, III, Sharlen Electric Company, Kendra Dinkins, Taylor Electric Company, Bob Fimbianti, Linear Electric, Inc., Mallory Gurtz, Gurtz Electric Co., Rick Jamerson, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc., Jerry McGlynn, McWilliams Electric Company, Inc., Thomas Pedergnana, Malko Communication Services, LLC, Tom Rivi, G & M Electrical Contractors Company, Nicholas Santoro, JMS Electric, Inc., and WC Schult, Super Electric Construction Company.  We thank Katie Canino, Canino Electric Co. for her 17 years of service on the Executive Committee, as she steps down and we welcome John Hartmann, Hartmann Electric Company, Inc. to the group.

It was also announced during the meeting that Sam Lacher, ECA Assistant Manager, will be taking on a new position with the Central Indiana Chapter, NECA as its newest Chapter Manager.  We wish Sam the best of luck on his new endeavor.  He has been a great asset with the Chicago Chapter and will be missed. 

The next Membership meeting will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.  The program will be held in conjunction with the Electric Association’s Annual Conference.  The ECA luncheon program will feature industry updates and a guest presentation by Ryan James Boyle, VP and Senior Economist - Global Risk Management Division - Northern Trust regarding a Midwest Economic Forecast.  We look forward to seeing you, there!

As a reminder, the ECA Holiday Party is December 7, 2024 at the Art Institute.  Please register as soon as you can!
