NECA Legislative Conference
May 6 - 8, 2024

The 2024 NECA Legislative Conference was held May 6 – 8, 2024 in Washington, D.C.  The conference was held at the Salamander Hotel.  Illinois was well-represented.  This contingent was one of the largest at the Conference.  Over a dozen meetings were scheduled with members of Congress and the Senate.  The Conference sessions included discussion on topics, including:  Economic Forecast, the upcoming elections, a special NECA – Issue Briefing, panel discussions concerning Tax Reform, Permitting Reform, workforce development, among other areas. 

The overall issues discussed with the Congressional and Senate representatives / staff members included the following:

• Legislation to support Small Businesses – Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act / Main Street Tax Certainty Act
• Enact Permitting Reform to ensure timely approval of Projects – FASTER Act / Restart Act
• Support for Modernization of Airport and Water Infrastructure – FAA Reauthorization Act / Water Resources Development Act (WRDA).
