The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) February Membership Meeting was held the afternoon of Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Gibson's Steakhouse in Oak Brook, IL.
This session was a legislative-focused meeting that highlighted the status of government affairs from a local, state, and national level.
- Jared Karbowsky, Director of NECA Government Affairs, illuminated the work that NECA National has done on Capitol Hill. Mr. Karbowsky also overviewed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and detailed the allocations of monies, including the implementation of an EV charging network in Illinois.
- Michael Alvarez, ECA’s City of Chicago/Cook County Lobbyist, presented on the current status of the mayoral and alderman election races.
- Jessica Newbold-Hoselton, Executive Director for IMSCA (Illinois Mechanical and Specialty Contractors), examined current Illinois legislation affecting the local construction industry.
The next ECA Membership meeting is scheduled as a luncheon on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Shaw’s Crab House in Schaumburg, IL.
The session will feature Industry updates, as well as presentations from Rob Johnson, Rob Johnson Communications, and Elbert Walters, III, Powering Chicago Executive Director. This session will focus on the benefits of Power Chicago and how a firm can participate. We hope to see you there!
