CISCO Annual Meeting - February 10, 2023

Program was held at Maggiano's Banquets in Schaumburg, IL.

The Construction Industry Service Corporation held its Annual Meeting on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Maggiano’s Banquets in Schaumburg, IL.  The event had over 300 attendees.  The Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) is a non-profit labor management association. CISCO was founded in 1988 in an effort to bring union construction labor and management representatives together to work cooperatively in order to better the construction industry as a whole.  CISCO currently represents over 8,000 union contractors and 140,000 workers in Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane, Kendall and McHenry Counties.

Highlights of the program include the following:

• The CISCO Board of Directors for 2023 were elected. We thank Gary Misicka, Lyons Electric Company, Inc. for his years of service representing the Electrical Contractors Association of City of Chicago (ECA) on the CISCO Board. We also welcome WC Schult, Super Electric Construction Company on joining the CISCO Board as the new ECA representative.  Thank you, Gary and WC!
  
  
• CISCO’s Pride in Construction Awards were presented by Dan Allen, CISCO Executive Director. This year’s award recipients were:
  • Educator of the Year – Latisa Kindred (Local Union #134 JW) , Simeon High School, Chicago;
  • Labor Advocate of the Year – Pamyla Fountain Brown (Turner Construction);
  • Public Body of the Year – City of Countryside / Mayor Sean McDermott
    
    
• Projects of the Year:
  • New Construction Chicago (over $20 million) – Plumbers Local 130 UA Parking Garage;
  • New Construction Suburbs (over $20 million) – Mooseheart Activity Center
  • Rehabilitation Projects – Boulder Point;
  • Residential Projects – Pepper Family Wildlife Center art Lincoln Park Zoo;
  • Infrastructure Projects – Tri-State Tollway (I-294/I-57) Interchange Project
