ECA Regular Membership Meeting - February 16, 2022
The meeting was held at Carmine's Restaurant in Rosemont, IL.
The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its February Regular Membership meeting on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Carmine’s Restaurant in Rosemont, IL. The session included a number of industry updates, as well as a presentation from James Farrell, NECA Government Affairs Executive Director.
Mr. Farrell discussed a number of issues, including the following:
NECA Government Affairs Focus / Accomplishments since 2020:
-Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
-National Defense Authorization Act of 2022
-Implementation of Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
-Significant progress reaching out to the Administration
-NECA CEO appointment to Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (ACA)
-Budget Reconciliation Negotiations ongoing
-National Apprenticeship Act (House passed)
-Pending - the US Innovation and Completion Act of 2021.
Mr. Farrell also gave a 2022 Congressional outlook, discussed Illinois Congressional activity, reviewed the Federal Regulatory Agenda, thanked those who participate with NECAPAC and encouraged future participation in the NECA PLC / NECAPAC activity. He also urged all to attend the 2022 NECA Legislative Conference. We thank James for his presentation!
