The IGA is the former Illinois Chapter of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The IGA Held its Annual Meeting on February 8, 2024, at the office of Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL). JLL is a global real estate services company. The session was held in their Aon Center office in Chicago.
Brian Imus, IGA Director, highlighted a number of areas the IGA is currently pursuing, including its continued outreach to a wide array of organizations and businesses and decarbonization efforts in Chicago and beyond.
2024 Key Priorities:
Guest presenter - Lana Crouse highlighted the USGBC 2024 – 2026 Strategic Plan and reported that Illinois is ranked #2 in the Top Ten States for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in 2023.
The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) works with the Illinois Green Alliance (IGA) on a number of mutual issues concerning renewable energy and other building efficiency concerns. Powering Chicago is also a Silver Level Sustaining Sponsor of the IGA and contributes to the content of the new Building Energy Resource Hub launched in July 2023.
The ECA wishes the IGA much-continued success, and as a reminder, the ECA offers members a complimentary membership in the Illinois Green Alliance (up to two representatives from ECA member firms). Please contact the office for further details.
