ECA 50th Annual Spring Conference Highlights
The Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its 50th Annual Spring Conference on June 8 - 9, 2022 at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. The nearly 80 registrants enjoyed The American Club, as it is one of the premier resort hotels in the country. Even though Wednesday’s golf outing was a wet one, the players enjoyed their time on the Meadow Valleys course! That evening’s reception/dinner meeting provided the members the latest information regarding industry events. It also was highlighted by a NECA 25th Anniversary Plaque presented to Katie Canino, Canino Electric Company. Also, Ken Bauwens, EIT Management Chair, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc. offered a heartfelt congratulations to Sean Madix, EIT Benefits Funds Director, as Mr, Madix is retiring later this year. Mr. Madix was also presented a crystal “Award of Excellence” on behalf of the Association. Peggy Hrindak, Phoenix Business Solutions, LLC was welcomed into membership in the ECA!
Rick Jamerson, ECA President, Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors, Inc., introduced a special Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) panel discussion during the Thursday morning Business Session. The DEI Panel discussed, "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Leadership & Changing Company Culture." The panel moderator was Alex Willis, CEO, Leadership Surge. The panelists were: Maureen O'Brien, CEO, Global Wisdom Leadership Forum, Pamyla Brown, Community & Citizenship Director, Turner Construction, Lt. General Ronald Bailey, Vice President, Industry Development, NECA and Dan Allen, CISCO Executive Director. This program helped guide executive leadership with strategies to create a corporate culture and environment welcoming to all. The ECA was pleased to welcome leadership from NECA, and Chicago’s construction market, to share their experiences and how they have driven positive change for the industry. We thank Alex and the panel for their efforts!
Plans are being made for next year’s Conference to be held at the Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wisconsin!
