ECA November 10, 2021 Membership Meeting!
The November Membership Meeting featured Don Finn, LU#134 IBEW Business Manager as the guest speaker!
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) November Membership Meeting was held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (INTECH). The ECA was proud to have as their guest speaker, Don Finn, Business Manager / Financial Secretary, Local Union #134 IBEW. A special tour of the school and a viewing of the new Powering Chicago educational truck were also made available.
Business Manager Finn provided an industry update, which included the following:
- He welcomed all attendees to the premier training facility - the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (INTECH).
- He commended the efforts of the many Trustees, those participating on joint committees, the staff of LU#134 and the staff of the ECA, journeymen and apprentices. The groups of dedicated individuals representing union and management are working to benefit and advance the Chicagoland Electrical Construction Industry. Local #134 IBEW and the partnership with the Electrical Contractors’ Association of City of Chicago (ECA) remains strong.
- He looked forward to the upcoming construction of the new EIT building adjacent to the INTECH property. A Wellness Center is to be attached to the future building. A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held the morning of November 10, 2021.
- He looked forward to working with the ECA is coordinating Continuing Education parameters.
The Meeting was also an opportunity for attendees to assist the Toys for Tots Campaign. The Local #134 IBEW Riders Club has designated INTECH as a drop-off location for the Toys for Tots Campaign! We thank those that were able to participate and brought new and unwrapped toy(s) to INTECH for distribution to the Toys for Tots Campaign! We thank all the signatory contractors, as well as our regular ECA members, who were able to join us for this opportunity to meet Business Manager Don Finn and the opportunity to network with their peers in the industry!
