Join the CBC for an informative and engaging presentation on the exciting new Chicago Fire FC Stadium project, led by Pepper Construction in partnership with GMA Construction Group and ALL Construction Group.
More than three decades in the making, Chicago Fire Football Club will soon have a permanent downtown home: a privately financed stadium that will serve as the centerpiece of the 62-acre site known as The 78, destined to become Chicago’s 78th neighborhood.
The team hand-picked the local triad of Pepper Construction, GMA Construction Group, and ALL Construction Group to deliver the new $650 million, 22,000-seat stadium. Located on a long-vacant site along the south branch of the Chicago River, just south of the Chicago Loop, the venue will be the city’s first professional soccer-specific stadium. Designed by Gensler, the facility will anchor the broader neighborhood transformation.
During the program, attendees will gain insight into the complex construction challenges posed by the riverfront project on a former railyard land such as soil stabilization, utility relocations, and traffic control coordination in a dense urban corridor. "In addition to the right foundation, our tri-venture with GMA and ALL Construction will focus on community engagement and coordination with Related Midwest to bring Chicago’s newest neighborhood, The 78, to life," said Rob Martinelli of Pepper.
The project is part of a $7 billion mixed-use development that the city reports will include up to 13 million square feet of commercial, residential, and institutional construction, 12 acres of open space, and 20% affordable housing commitment across approximately 10,000 residential units.
Those involved in Chicagoland's built environment will not want to miss this luncheon, panel and the great networking that goes along with it! A representative from Related Midwest will be on hand to provide a high-level overview of The 78.
The stadium is exciting in so many ways. As Chicago Fire Football Club Owner and Chairman Joe Mansueto shared, “A world-class city deserves a world-class football club—with a world-class home to match. This development will be transformative for both the Chicago Fire FC and the city of Chicago.”
