Chris Nybo is a former Illinois State Senator and Representative who now runs his own government relations firm. His clients include trade associations, companies, non-profits, and local governments, and he has significant public and private sector experience across a wide variety of industries, including financial services, energy, real estate, technology, health care, gaming, and recycling. His knowledge of and experience with political, legislative and regulatory processes makes him adept at crafting, developing and influencing legislation and public policy. Chris earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College (summa cum laude) in Government and Public Policy and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. In 1998, he was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar. In addition to his legislative experience, Chris has practiced law for over twenty years, starting with a clerkship for the Honorable James Zagel on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois followed by private practice at Chicago-based law firms.

Michael Alvarez has enjoyed a fast-paced career closely associated with local, state, and federal government activities that serve the interests of the citizens and businesses of the State of Illinois. Alvarez and Associates is a full-service firm that assists clients in navigating through the public and private sectors in the City of Chicago, Cook County, the State of Illinois and Washington. Prior to forming the firm, Alvarez was a Senior Advisor to Senator Barack Obama. In this capacity, Mr. Alvarez provided strategic and political counsel to the Senator and his staff and served as liaison to various constituency and ethnic groups. Prior to his position with Senator Obama’s office, Mr. Alvarez served as the Deputy Director for Community Relations & Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Department of Employment Security in Chicago. He has also worked on a variety of prominent political campaigns in the City of Chicago, Cook County and at the Federal level. Mr. Alvarez has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Master’s degree in Corporate and Managerial Communication, both from Northwestern University.
