The luncheon program will feature industry updates, and guest presentation from Jessica Newbold Hoselton, Executive Director, Illinois Mechanical & Specialty Contractors Association (IMSCA) and (anticipated) Gene Kent, IBEW- NECA Technical Institute (INTECH) Director.
IMSCA is the lobbying entity that the Association and numerous other local and statewide trade associations utilize regarding Illinois General Assembly issues. As IMSCA's Executive Director, Jessica manages the day to day operations and serves as that association’s chief lobbyist. Jessica represents the interests of the sub-contracting industry at the Illinois state capitol by monitoring and taking action on legislation that impacts the Illinois construction industry. Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2002 from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and her Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Administration from Purdue University in 2004. Recently, IMSCA played an integral role with Retainage reform downstate. Jessica will be on hand to give an IMSCA update, discuss issues that affect union electrical contractors, as well as issues that affect the overall construction industry in Illinois.
(Anticipated) Gene Kent, INTECH Director will discuss the apprentice procedure: acquiring of new apprentices, Trainees in the program, among other training areas.
