Managing Field Productivity Seminar (ADDITIONAL PROGRAM - NOW OPEN)!

The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) Research and Education Committee is pleased to announce an additional date for the seminar called, "Managing Field Productivity." The event will be held from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Drake Oak Brook Hotel, 2301 York Road, Oak Brook, Illinois, (630) 571-0000. (Breakfast and lunch are to be provided).
THE FEE FOR THIS PROGRAM IS $100.00 PER ECA MEMBER.
THE NON-MEMBER FEE IS $585.00 PER PERSON.
The seminar is being conducted by Dr. Awad Hanna, Professor & Chair of the Construction Engineering and Management Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Electrical contracting is a high-risk and labor-intensive industry and the most volatile cost element facing contractors is field labor productivity. This course will focus on ways plan, measure and take corrective action to increase field productivity.
Following this class, participants will be able to:
* Identify risk factors affecting productivity, pre-job and pre-task planning
* Discuss how to plan for an increase of field productivity
* Explain productivity measurements and principles of improvement
* Identify how to take corrective action to increase field productivity

Dr. Awad Hanna, Professor & Chair of the Construction Engineering and Management Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Dr. Hanna holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Penn State University, and he is a registered professional engineer in the U.S. and Canada. Awad has been an active construction practitioner, educator and researcher for over 30 years including 10 years as a design engineer and project manager. He has been active in industry-funded productivity research for nearly 20 years, and research sponsors have included the Electrical Contracting Foundation, the Mechanical Contracting Foundation, the New Horizon Foundation and the Construction Industry Institute, among others. He has authored over 100 refereed journal articles on construction-related topics with special emphasis on labor productivity, construction methods, cumulative impact of change, construction risk management and orders. He is the author of both the National Electrical Contractors Association's course on Construction Labor Productivity Improvement and the Canadian Mechanical Contracting Education Foundation's course on Improving Labor Productivity. As such, he has presented over 500 one-day seminars and instructed more than 10,000 people in the U.S. and Canadian construction industries on improving construction labor productivity and improving site performance through proper pre-construction planning.
